Ralphie is going to have to wait a little for that Red Ryder BB gun. A Christmas Story, The Musical has shifted its first preview from November 5 to November 7 due to the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy. Opening night is scheduled for November 19 at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre, with the holiday engagement scheduled to run through December 30.
Based on the classic holiday film of the same name, A Christmas Story is the tale of Ralphie, a boy who has only one wish for Christmas: a Red Ryder BB gun. As Ralphie tries to make his Christmas dream come true, he encounters a cranky department store Santa, a triple-dog-dare to lick a freezing flagpole, pink bunny pajamas and a kooky leg lamp.
Twelve-year-old Johnny Rabe leads the cast as Ralphie, with Joe West stepping in at certain performances. The cast includes Erin Dilly, John Bolton, Zac Ballard, Caroline O’Connor, Eddie Korbich and Dan Lauria. The show's ensemble features Tia Altinay, John Babbo, Charissa Bertels, Grace Capeless, Zoe Considine, Andrew Cristi, Mathew deGuzman, Thay Flloyd, George Franklin, Nick Gaswirth, Mark Ledbetter, Jose Luaces, Jack Mastrianni, Mara Newbery, Lindsay O’Neil, Sarah Min-Kyung Park, J.D. Rodriguez, Analise Scarpaci, Lara Seibert, Jeremy Shinder, Luke Spring, Beatrice Tulchin, and Kirsten Wyatt.
